Tips for A Stress Free Travel
Regardless
of whether you are travelling for business or leisure, these simple tips will ensure you are not pulling out your hair in
frustration during your next trip. While the tips themselves might seem
deceptively simple, but following them will ensure a relaxed and
happy trip.
Keep a travel case ready :- This
is especially applicable for frequent travellers. Having to pack,
unpack and pack yet again is a tedious activity and you always run
the risk of missing out something during the last minute rush. The
best way to tackle this is to keep a travel case semi packed with
vital things like universal power adapter and toiletries in your
house at all times. Before your travel, you just need to add your
clothes and your are ready to go.
Travel light :- Pack basic
colours so you can mix and match more easily and give the impression
of having a larger travelling wardrobe than you actually do. Shoes
can grab a huge chunk of your packing space so try to limit them to
two pairs. Besides, rather trying to match your shoes to your
clothes, do it the other way around. Try to go for
crunch-proof/wrinkle free fabrics as not all hotels provide ironing
facilities. Also crush proof clothes can be rolled up to further
increase space in your suitcase.
Know your destination :- Prepare
a full fledged itinerary of all the places you are planning to visit,
including contact details and ticket confirmation details. Mail all
your confirmation numbers to a cloud based mail service which you can
access from anywhere. A mobile wallet like Lemon (Android) or
Passbook (iOS) can also be helpful in tracking your finance more
efficiently when you are travelling.
Plan your stay :- Make sure you
do an online hotel booking at least a week before your travel
dates. While some may argue that hotel booking is best done as close
to the journey date as possible to snag the best prices, this can
often result in undue stress. Thankfully, most hotels in India
now accept an online booking, and even if they don't, you can do a
web booking through one of the online travel agencies.
Take it easy at the airport :-
If there is one place you don't want to pull in "just in time",
its got to be the airport. Plowing through heavy traffic and arriving
just 2 minutes before the boarding gate closes is sure to get your
mental nerves in a knot.
